Job Opportunity
Are you interested in working for one of Scotland’s largest privately owned civil engineering and building contractors? Do you want to play a key role in delivering complex civil engineering projects in challenging environments? If yes, this could be the right opportunity for you.
RJ McLeod is seeking Project Quantity Surveyors to join their team based in Northern Scotland. In this role, you will support the commercial management of major infrastructure projects across renewable energy, highways, and marine sectors.
What We Are Looking For
This role requires a strong understanding of commercial contracts (NEC3/4) and civil engineering experience. You should have:
* A degree in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management, or related field.
* Experience in civil engineering projects, especially in renewable energy, highways, or marine construction.
* Ability to measure and value civil engineering works.
* Experience with delay and disruption claims, including cost analysis for projects over £2M.
Excellent communication and analytical skills are essential. You should also be able to work at pace, demonstrating flexibility, agility, and resilience.
Additional Skills (Preferred)
* CPD evidence and/or working towards MRICS/MInstCES qualification.
* Knowledge of heavy civil construction techniques.
* Knowledge of MCHW or National Grid specifications.
* Understanding of the Scottish civil engineering sector.
* Experience working in remote or island locations.
Requirements
A valid UK driving license and the ability to travel to remote sites are required due to the location of the projects.

Location
This position is based in Dingwall, with travel to various project sites. Occasional overnight stays may be required, and we are open to candidates willing to work away from home during the week on major projects.
