We have an opportunity for a Clinical Psychologist to join their team of staff in the Physiotherapy department. This is a bank role working on an “as and when required” basis, you will be required to supplement staffing levels during busy periods and provide cover for existing staff in times of annual leave or absence. Duties of this role include: Deliver comprehensive psychological assessments using a range of psychometric, cognitive, behavioural, and clinical methods. Provide individual and group therapy using evidence-based models (e.g. CBT, ACT, systemic approaches) appropriate to patient needs. Work with patients experiencing a range of neurological and psychological issues including stroke, brain injury, spinal cord injury, chronic pain, adjustment disorders, and mood disorders. Provide specialist psychological formulations and contribute to case discussions and goal planning. Actively contribute to MDT working, attending ward rounds, case conferences, family meetings and clinical handovers. Support the psychological thinking and wellbeing of the team, offering consultation, advice and reflective practice. Provide training and psychoeducation to other staff and family members to improve understanding of psychological aspects of care. Supervise Trainee Clinical Psychologists, Assistant Psychologists, or Therapy Support Workers as required. Applicants should meet the following criteria: Doctorate in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent) recognised by the HCPC. HCPC registration as a Practitioner Psychologist (Clinical). Experience in working with neurological, complex rehabilitation or physical health populations. Evidence of applying psychological theories (CBT, neuropsychology, systemic, etc.) in clinical settings. Knowledge of the psychological impact of disability, trauma and adjustment. Strong interpersonal, communication and teamworking skills. Ability to work autonomously and manage a varied caseload. Commitment to safeguarding and adherence to data protection and clinical governance standards. Experience in inpatient or residential rehabilitation settings. Training in neuropsychological assessment or specific therapeutic models (e.g. EMDR, CAT). Experience supervising trainees or junior psychology staff. Involvement in research or publication relevant to neurorehabilitation. Skills in group therapy delivery. Experience in rehabilitation essential, ward experience desirable.
