Job Title: Process Engineer
Type: 9-Month Contract (Outside IR35)

Role Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Process Engineer to support the design, optimisation, and commissioning of innovative processes for recovering valuable metals from electronic waste. This role is crucial to delivering the company’s 7-year growth strategy through sustainable process development.
You will be responsible for process innovation, trials, and working cross-functionally to drive efficiency, safety, and environmental compliance.
Key Responsibilities:

Design and optimise new processes from lab to production scale

Conduct process trials and analyse data for scale-up
*
Support commissioning, including test planning and troubleshooting
*
Drive safety and compliance (HAZOP, LOPA, DSEAR, ATEX)
*
Develop process documentation including PFDs, P&IDs, and design specs
*
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, engineering, and operations
*
Ensure HSE standards and environmental regulations are met
Experience Required:
*
2+ years’ experience in process engineering, ideally in metal recovery or e-waste
*
Background in process design, optimisation, and scale-up
*
Familiar with process safety tools: HAZOP, LOPA, ATEX, DSEAR
*
Experience managing small technical teams or projects (desirable)
Technical Skills:
*
Understanding of metallurgical, chemical recovery, and separation techniques
*
Process engineering calculations and use of lab data for scaling
*
Development of PFDs, P&IDs, and functional specifications
*
Familiarity with instrumentation and process control systems
*
Experience with commissioning, FAT/SFAT, test scripting, and RAMS
*
Proficient in safety practices when handling chemicals and experimental setups
*
Knowledge of environmental regulations related to e-waste
*
Experience with DoE and statistical analysis (a plus)
