Bank Theatre Porter
Hours: Flexible, Zero hour contract
Location: Euxton Hall Hospital, Chorley
The role:
We have a great opportunity for a Bank Theatre Porter to join our team at Euxton Hall Hospital. You will be an integral part of a team who are committed to delivering the highest quality clinical outcomes in a supported environment, where you will be valued for your skills and expertise.
With a strong focus on customer service our team of Bank Porters provide a vital service in our hospital. Although escorting patients in a safe and friendly manner is a key function of the role you will also be required to provide general porter services to all hospital departments. Duties will include management of waste, transit of blood and specimens, changing and handling of gas cylinders and manual handling of equipment.
Key responsibilities:
1. Changing and handling of gas cylinders
2. Adhering to Health and Safety standards
3. Carrying out minor repairs and general maintenance tasks
4. Completing daily van runs for transport and delivery purposes
5. Conducting routine security checks of the hospital
6. Management of clinical and non-clinical waste
7. Supporting laundry services as required
8. Supervising and liaising with contractors on-site
9. Performing planned preventative maintenance checks
10. Providing internal and external postal services
11. Management of deliveries
12. Moving patients and material around the hospital as directed by the clinical team
13. Obtaining of supplies and equipment to replenish all departments in the hospital
What you’ll bring with you:
14. Professional and confident IT skills
15. A valid driver’s licence is essential for this role
16. Strong English and Mathematics skills
17. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
18. The ability to work independently and as part of a team
19. Initiative with a flexible and proactive approach to work
20. Good attention to detail
21. Excellent customer service experience
22. Experience in working within a challenging environment
23. Previous Healthcare experience (desirable not required)

Opened in 1983, Euxton Hall Private Hospital is one of Lancashire's leading private hospitals situated on the outskirts of Chorley but close to Preston and Wigan with easy access to the M65, M6 and M61 motorways. The facility offers 22 beds all with en suite facilities to ensure complete privacy and by investing in advanced medical technology offers a wide range of treatments and services. On site there are two fully equipped ultra clean air theatres and a small treatment room.
