Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor to join a well-established main contractor delivering a major project in Oxford. This role offers the chance to take commercial leadership of a £25 million MEP package on a major scheme, working closely with a dynamic project team.
The Role
As Senior M&E Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for the full commercial management of the MEP package from start to final account. Reporting directly to the Commercial Director, you will play a key role in ensuring the project is delivered to budget while maintaining high standards of quality and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
1. Full commercial responsibility for a £25m MEP package
2. Management of subcontractor procurement, payments, valuations, and variations
3. Contract administration and risk management
4. Accurate cost reporting and forecasting
5. Supporting value engineering and cost-saving initiatives
6. Liaising with project, design, and delivery teams to ensure commercial objectives are achieved
7. Mentoring and supporting junior commercial team members where applicable
About You
* Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor within M&E or building services on large-scale construction projects
* Strong working knowledge of NEC or JCT forms of contract
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and analytical skills
* Ability to manage multiple stakeholders and maintain a proactive approach to problem solving
* Degree qualified in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline (or equivalent experience)
