Popular bistro style restaurant near Newquay are seeking a creative and experienced Head Chef to join their team. As Head Chef, you will run the daily operations of the kitchen, manage the kitchen staff to ensure that the highest quality of food is served to guests, and ensure that all food and labour cost goals are met. You will have overall responsibility for daily operations in the kitchen, including: * Liaising with purchasing companies for food orders * Maintaining or raising the profit margins on food * Producing menus and new dishes * Help train apprentice chefs * Controlling and directing the food preparation process * Managing and working closely with other Chefs of all levels * Creating menu items, recipes and developing dishes ensuring variety and quality * Determining food inventory needs, stock control and ordering * Ultimately responsible for ensuring the kitchen meets all regulations including sanitary and food safety guidelines * Being responsible for health and safety * Being responsible for food hygiene practices They are looking for someone who can keep cool under pressure and is a team player, with at least 3 years previous Head Chef experience.
