Overview
A client within the Public Sector based in Lancashire is currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join their team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full‑time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with an ideal candidate having experience working within a local authority in an engineering environment.
The Role
Key purpose of the role is to deliver and manage a full range of professional assignments within structural engineering, providing technical expertise, advice, and project support to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory and professional requirements.
Key Responsibilities
* Delivering professional structural engineering assignments and advice to meet service requirements.
* Providing specialist technical guidance to colleagues, stakeholders and external partners.
* Planning, managing and delivering small/medium projects and contributing to larger programmes.
* Identifying opportunities for service and process improvements within engineering practice.
* Maintaining effective relationships with other agencies and providers to ensure joined‑up service delivery.
The Candidate
To be considered for this role you will require a formal professional qualification within structural or civil engineering and significant experience in a similar role or demonstrable professional‑level vocational experience.
Desired Skills
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
* Knowledge of professional, statutory and regulatory frameworks within structural engineering.
* Ability to train and mentor junior staff and influence others through effective relationship building.
Compensation
The client is looking to move quickly with this role and is offering £45.00 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £33‑£34 per hour PAYE).
