Job Description: Functional Skills Tutor
TP Tutors collaborates with Schools, Local Authorities, and Virtual Schools across Newcastle to support students in Functional Skills. As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will play a vital role in helping individuals develop their English and Maths skills.
The students supported by TP Tutors often face challenges such as behavioural issues, SEN, and being looked after children. Our aim is to equip these students with essential skills for their future success.
Responsibilities:
* Plan and deliver engaging 1-1 and group functional skills sessions.
* Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback.
* Identify individual needs and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
* Maintain accurate records of attendance, progress, and achievements.
* Support children’s emotional and individual needs.
Qualifications and experience required:
* Professional Teaching Qualification (QTS) or significant TA/Tutoring experience (preferred).
* Experience working with children/young people with SEND, SEMH, or other needs.
* Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one (support provided).
* Professional references covering the last 24 months from your two most recent employers.
