We are a four star Country House Hotel and have an excellent opportunity for a Breakfast Chef to join us in the North East of England.
This role gives the opportunity to join an operation that delivers a strong standard within a 4 star hotel that caters for individual and wedding groups, plus the role gives you the opportunity to work with excellent chef's who can guide and develop your career up through the ranks. The role will consist of 40 hours split over 5 days and will predominantly be 6am - 2 pm daily, so a great role that gives you evenings off within a hotel environment.
In taking on this position, you must have worked in hotels in the past and it needs a candidate who can get to the operation at 6am so driving is necessary as there is no live in accomodation available on site.
Job Overview:
The successful candidate will work with our kitchen team, ensuring the delivery of high-quality dishes and exceptional dining experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Manage kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure a cohesive team and deputise for the Sous Chef when necessary.
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene
- Collaborate with the Head and Sous Chef in order to plan menus, estimate food costs, and order supplies
- Monitor inventory levels and control food wastage to maximise profitability
Skills:
- Proven experience in a similar role within the hospitality industry
- Strong culinary skills with expertise in various cooking techniques
- Excellent leadership abilities to motivate and manage a team effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
