Monday to Friday - Core office hours
Outsource UK is recruiting for a experienced Engineering Manager to take on a key leadership role within a growing engineering team in Derby. This is a hybrid position, with onsite presence typically required 3 days per week (Tuesday to Thursday).
The Role
This is a strategic leadership position working across multiple engineering disciplines. You will provide direction, governance, and decision‑making support while helping to build and develop a high‑performing engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
* Provide leadership across a multi-disciplinary engineering function
* Support the development and growth of the engineering team
* Drive effective decision‑making and technical governance across programmes
* Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment on engineering priorities and delivery
* Establish and maintain best practices, processes, and standards
* Mentor and develop engineers at varying levels of experience
Requirements
* Proven experience in an Engineering Manager or senior leadership role
* Strong background working across multiple engineering disciplines
* Experience working within defence environments or SC‑cleared programmes (or eligibility to obtain SC clearance)
* Demonstrated ability to build, lead, and develop high‑performing teams
* Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
* Strategic mindset with the ability to influence decision‑making
