Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and experienced JDE World Technical Developer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the development, maintenance, and support of JD Edwards World ERP applications. This role requires strong technical expertise in RPG programming, the JDE World toolset, and a deep understanding of business processes across various modules. The candidate will work within the IBM iSeries (AS/400) environment, using RPG and CL programming languages to deliver solutions that meet business needs across functional areas. They will anchor engagement efforts from business process consulting and problem definition to solution design, development, and deployment, guiding teams on project processes, deliverables and architecture/design reviews.
Technical Responsibilities
* Develop, maintain, and support JDE World ERP applications using RPG and CL.
* Retrofit standard as well as customized programs to facilitate business needs.
* Create new programs as per client requirement.
* Modify standard and customized programs based on requests.
* Develop and retrofit batch and interactive applications.
* Perform bug‑fixing in customized programs.
* Use JDE World tools such as SVR, SDA, RDA, FTP, Dream Writer & Work Query for report writing.
* Leverage XML parsing, FTP, and job scheduling where needed.
* Contribute to architecture and design reviews as a technical advisor.
* Support release planning and delivery planning.
* Manage complex work within tight deadlines with strong analytical skills.
* Develop and groom a team of consultants/developers for on‑site‑offshore engagement.
* Build a customer‑orientation and strategic perspective.
Required Qualifications
* At least 10 years of Information Technology experience.
* 8+ years of experience in JDE World with RPG/CL coding as a technical consultant.
* Knowledge of RPG400, CL400, RPGILE, and RDBMS (DB2/400) with OS400 concepts.
* Strong in developing applications and reports using JDE World tools.
* Well versed with development tools on JDE World software.
* Knowledge of JDE World architecture and data structures.
* Minimum 8–10 years of experience as a JDE World technical consultant.
* Excellent planner for release and delivery planning.
* Excellent problem‑solving skills.
* Thrives in fast‑paced collaborative environment.
* Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail.
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience with XML parsing, FTP, and job scheduling.
* Proficient in functional areas such as finance, sales, and distribution.
* Ability to build and lead a consulting/development team.
* Strong customer orientation and strategic perspective.
