ROI is urgently seeking a skilled Wetland Scientist to provide expert wetland regulation support and collaborate with our engineering team on a variety of residential, commercial, and public projects in Northern MA.

Responsibilities:
As a Wetland Scientist, your work will directly support the success of residential, commercial, and public projects. Key responsibilities include:
* Providing expert wetland regulatory support, advising engineers and project teams on wetland regulations and permitting requirements
* Preparing wetland-related applications, including WPA, NEPA/MEPA filings, and other environmental permits for federal, state, and local agencies
* Conducting wetland delineations and assessing ecological resource areas to evaluate potential environmental impacts of development and infrastructure projects
* Preparing comprehensive permit applications for environmental regulatory agencies and ensuring compliance with wetland laws
* Designing and supporting wetland restoration, habitat mitigation, and ecological enhancement projects
* Presenting at public hearings and meetings to advocate for project compliance with wetland regulations
* Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project execution and environmental compliance
* Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with regulatory agencies and stakeholders
Qualifications:
We’re seeking an experienced professional who brings both scientific expertise and strong communication skills to the table. Ideal candidates will have:
* B.A., B.S., or M.S. in Ecology, Geology, Soil Science, Biology, Natural Resources, or a related field
* 1–8 years of experience in wetland permitting, preparation of wetland-related applications, and providing wetland regulatory expertise to engineering teams
* Proven experience in presenting at public hearings and working with regulatory agencies
* Field ecology and data analysis experience, with strong technical writing skills for permitting and compliance documentation
* Proficiency in ArcGIS and environmental mapping tools
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders
* A valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle

Pay Range: $70,000 - $110,000
