Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Safety Officer to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in promoting a safe working environment by ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of staff. The Safety Officer will be responsible for identifying potential hazards, conducting risk assessments, and implementing safety protocols.
Duties
* Conduct regular inspections of the event venues to identify hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
* Develop and implement safety policies and procedures to promote a culture of safety within the organisation.
* Perform thorough incident investigations, including root cause analysis, to prevent future occurrences.
* Prepare detailed reports on safety performance, incidents, and compliance audits for management review.
* Provide training and support to staff on health and safety practices, including first aid procedures.
* Liaise with external regulatory bodies and ensure that the organisation meets all legal requirements regarding health and safety.
* Monitor the effectiveness of safety initiatives and recommend improvements as necessary.
Experience
* Proven experience in a health and safety role or similar position is essential.
* Strong knowledge of health and safety legislation and best practices.
* Experience in report writing to document findings, recommendations, and compliance status.
* Certification in first aid is highly desirable.
* Demonstrated ability to conduct root cause analysis effectively.
