Overview
We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional events and culinary experiences at our family-run events venue & restaurant. Whilst the restaurant is a fundamental element of The Kedleston, we are becoming very busy with weddings and events therefore, this is the direction we are pursuing.
The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills and a deep understanding of food production, ensuring that our events and restaurant maintains the highest standards of food safety and hospitality. As the Head Chef, you will play a pivotal role in menu development for our events and restaurant, team management, and maintaining an efficient kitchen environment.
Duties
* Oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring quality control and consistency in food production.
* Supervise and manage kitchen staff, fostering a positive team environment and promoting professional development.
* Develop innovative menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences while adhering to budgetary constraints.
* Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain high standards of hygiene throughout the kitchen.
* Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
* Monitor inventory levels, placing orders for supplies as needed while minimising waste.
* Conduct regular training sessions for kitchen staff on culinary techniques, food safety practices, and operational procedures.
* Maintain an organised kitchen environment that promotes efficiency and teamwork.
Qualifications
* Proven experience as a Head Chef or in a similar leadership role within a restaurant setting.
* Strong knowledge of culinary techniques, food safety standards, and kitchen management practices.
* Excellent supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse team effectively.
* Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering high-quality dining experiences.
* Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
* Culinary degree or equivalent qualification is preferred but not essential if experience is demonstrable.
