Scotland / UK Remote | AI-Driven SaaS Environment | £65,000–£85,000 + Benefits
High-growth, award-recognised SaaS organisation continuing significant investment in product and engineering capability.
This senior hire will play a key role in evolving a complex, data-rich platform used by enterprise and professional services customers.
The position combines hands-on engineering with technical influence — contributing to architectural direction, delivery standards, and long-term platform scalability.
The Opportunity
This role sits within a collaborative product engineering environment focused on:
Designing and delivering scalable back-end features end-to-end
Improving performance, reliability, and maintainability across a mature codebase
Supporting prioritisation, scoping, and technical planning
Analysing and instrumenting production systems
Contributing to best practice across engineering teams
Mentoring and raising technical standards
Navigating ambiguity in a fast-moving scale-up setting
This is suited to an experienced Senior or Principal-level engineer comfortable influencing both technical direction and delivery outcomes.
Technical Environment
Strong experience expected in:
.NET (Framework and/or Core)
Azure Cloud Platform
Azure SQL / MS SQL Server
Performance monitoring and instrumentation
Data-intensive systems
Additional exposure beneficial:
Search technologies (e.g. Lucene, Elastic, NoSQL)
Cloud-based search platforms
Data pipelines and large-scale datasets
SQL views and query optimisation

Senior-level back-end engineering background
Experience working within cloud-hosted SaaS environments
Comfortable working in data-heavy, high-volume systems
Strong problem decomposition and analytical skills
Confident providing technical leadership and mentoring

Comfortable operating within evolving requirements
