This is a key leadership position within our care team, where you will oversee the day-to-day operations of a shift, ensuring the highest standards of person-centered care for our residents. Key Responsibilities Team Leadership and Supervision: Lead, mentor, and supervise a team of care assistants during shifts, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback to ensure high-quality care delivery. Resident Care Management: Oversee the implementation of individualized care plans, ensuring residents' physical, emotional, and social needs are met. This includes assisting with personal care, medication administration, and monitoring health changes. Shift Coordination: Manage daily shift operations, including rotas, task allocation, and responding to emergencies or incidents promptly and effectively. Quality Assurance: Conduct regular audits and checks to maintain compliance with CQC (Care Quality Commission) standards, health and safety regulations, and internal policies. Resident and Family Engagement: Build strong relationships with residents and their families, addressing concerns, facilitating meetings, and promoting a supportive community atmosphere. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using electronic systems, and report any issues to senior management. Training and Development: Support the onboarding of new staff and deliver ongoing training sessions on topics such as safeguarding, infection control, and dementia care. Collaboration: Work closely with multidisciplinary teams, including nurses, therapists, and external healthcare professionals, to coordinate holistic care. Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for service enhancement, participate in quality improvement initiatives, and contribute to team meetings and home-wide projects. Essential Qualifications and Experience NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care (or equivalent qualification). At least 2 years of experience in a supervisory or leadership role within elderly care, preferably in a residential setting. Proven track record in delivering high standards of care to elderly residents, including those with dementia or complex needs. Knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding procedures, and health and safety legislation. Experience with medication administration and care planning.
