Assistant Mine Manager

Job Summary
Support the Mine Manager at our underground barite mining operation. The mine was developed in 2020 applying modern systems to a small industrial minerals operation in a sub-vertical orebody and is now approaching the stage where stoping can commence.
Key Responsibilities
* Design and issue mine plans to safely achieve production targets.
* Conduct geotechnical assessments for safe design and ground support.
* Perform interim surveys to ensure design compliance.
* Monitor ventilation and gas levels for OH compliance.
* Ensure regulatory compliance in equipment checks, water treatment, ground support installation and explosives management.
* Conduct post-blast inspections for ground and ventilation changes.
* Maintain risk assessment and supporting documentation systems.
Operational Duties
* Plan and coordinate daily equipment and manpower resources for production.
* Follow strict health, safety, and environmental (HSE) procedures to ensure compliance with SLB and regulatory standards.
* Record and report operational data, including production volumes, equipment status, and safety checks.
* Compile geological data for planning.
* Oversee underground communication system expansion.
* Support logistics and supply chain teams in meeting delivery schedules for internal and external customers.
* Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and reduce operational risks.
Essential Requirements
* Mining engineer or a geologist with a geotechnical focus.
* Minimum of 3 years’ experience in similar role.
* Able to commute to base location.
* Valid right to work in the UK.

* Use of 3D mine modelling software.
