What's involved with this role: Temporary Personal Advisor x3 – Pathways Leaving Care Services Reference no: Middlesbrough 1004401914928715 Pay rate: £13.92 per hour PAYE Hours per week: 35-37 Monday – Friday, normal working hours This opening assignment is for 1-2 months City: MIDDLESBROUGH Enhanced DBS required for this role A Personal Advisor is required to ensure that young people who are care leavers are supported and encouraged to make informed life choices which give them the best opportunity to lead successful adult lives. Key responsibilities: Undertake a comprehensive Personal Advisor service to Children and Families within a defined area. Formulate and design appropriate plans to meet identified needs and to arrange for the implementation of such plans, in conjunction with other appropriate agencies. Provide appropriate ongoing support to individuals and families as the key worker. Ensure that individual professional standards are maintained in line with agreed levels, including full compliance with policy and procedural guidelines and accepting primary responsibility for the level and quality casework recording. Feed back to the Team Manager any problems in relation to the effective provision of services and/or policies. A recognised Care qualification minimum NVQ 4 or equivalent or working towards NVQ4. Experience: Experience of working with young people, looked after children and/or care leavers. Experience of planning, delivering and evaluating work with young people. Experience of multi-agency working desirable. Knowledge: Knowledge of looked after children and care leavers. Knowledge of the legislation relevant to looked after children and care leavers. Skills & Abilities: Ability to build and sustain working relationships with young people. Ability to assess young people’s needs and design relevant interventions. Sound organisational skills. Ability to develop plans and implement care packages. Ability to face difficult issues and deal with them sensitively. Ability to work purposefully in partnership with service users and their families. Ability to undertake assessment of Service users and carers.
