We are seeking a skilled CAD/BIM Technician to join our dynamic team in a unique hybrid role. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in computer-aided design and building information modeling (BIM) software, along with hands-on experience operating machinery such as vertical mills and boring equipment. This role plays a critical part in supporting both our design and production teams, bridging digital planning with real-world fabrication. The position offers a compressed 4-day workweek (41 hours/week), providing work-life balance without compromising professional engagement.
Responsibilities
Develop and produce high-quality 2D and 3D CAD drawings using software such as AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
Collaborate with engineers and architects to understand project specifications and fabrication needs.
Create and coordinate BIM models for design, fabrication, and installation workflows.
Perform vertical milling and boring operations in the warehouse using manual and semi-automated machinery.
Interpret technical schematics to support accurate machining and fabrication.
Maintain accurate records of all drawings, models, and revisions to ensure version control.
Assist in project updates, design changes, and documentation revisions throughout the project lifecycle.
Participate in project and production meetings to ensure alignment between design intent and physical output.
Support general warehouse activities as needed, maintaining a clean and safe work environment.
Requirements
Proficiency in CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, and SolidWorks.
Experience with 3D modeling tools such as SketchUp and NavisWorks is advantageous.
Hands-on experience operating vertical milling machines and performing boring operations.
Strong understanding of technical drawings, schematics, and machining tolerances.
Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy in both design and fabrication.
Ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team and independently manage tasks.
Strong communication skills to collaborate across departments and project stakeholders.
A relevant qualification in mechanical engineering, CAD drafting, or machining is preferred.
