What is a Volunteer Events Supporter?
Every year, hundreds of our supporters take on amazing challenges - from skydives and our colourful paint-filled Colour Run to enjoying our open gardens - all to raise vital funds for Derian House Children's Hospice. Behind the scenes, our Volunteer Events Supporters are the heroes who make these events possible.
Whether it's helping with car park marshaling, serving refreshments, or collecting donations, event volunteers play a crucial role in bringing our events to life. Once you join our volunteer events team, it's easy to get hooked. Some love the excitement of event day and meeting new people, others enjoy developing new skills and being 'behind the scenes.' But most of all, our volunteers share a passion for making a real difference to the lives of the babies, children, young people, and families we support.
Are you ready to join the fun and help make every Derian House event unforgettable?
What's Involved
You might be meeting and greeting participants, helping set up and clear down, supporting stewarding tasks such as car parking or giving directions, handing out refreshments, or selling raffle tickets and merchandise. Every event is different, and every role is vital.
You'll love this role if you
You enjoy chatting with people, are flexible and happy to volunteer outdoors, and love working as part of a team.
Please note
The minimum age for event volunteers is 16 years. We provide essential kit such as hi-vis jackets and fundraising T-shirts, but you'll need to dress appropriately for the conditions and task - whether that's manning a ticket desk on a chilly December evening or standing in the sun helping with car parking. Catering isn't always available, so you may be asked to bring your own. The time commitment will depend on your role at the event.
If this sounds like you, sign up today and help us make every Derian House event a day to remember
