HR & Payroll Manager
Truro Cornwall
£35,000 – £40,000 per annum
Full Time Permanent Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm (1-hour lunch)
Our client, a well-established and growing construction business, is seeking an experienced HR & Payroll Manager to lead the company’s HR and payroll functions. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful organisation during an exciting period of growth.
Reporting to senior management, you will oversee all aspects of HR administration, employee relations, payroll processing, and compliance, while managing and supporting a small team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Managing the company’s weekly and monthly payroll processes, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery.
2. Ensuring compliance with current payroll, employment, and HR legislation.
3. Overseeing day-to-day HR operations across the business.
4. Advising managers and employees on HR policies, procedures, and employment matters.
5. Managing employee onboarding, contracts, absence management, and personnel records.
6. Supervising and supporting a small team consisting of a Payroll/HR Administrator and a Training Coordinator.
7. Overseeing training administration and workforce development activities.
8. Maintaining HR and payroll systems and ensuring accurate record keeping.
9. Supporting senior management with HR initiatives and workforce planning.
Requirements
10. Previous experience in both HR and payroll management.
11. Strong knowledge of employment law and payroll legislation.
12. Experience managing or supervising staff.
13. Excellent organisational and communication skills.
14. CIPD Level 3 qualification or above is desirable
15. Experience within the construction industry would be advantageous.
16. Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
