The Opportunity
We’re hiring a proactive and capable General Manager to support our next stage of growth. Working closely with the owner, you’ll take responsibility for day-to-day operations, process improvement, team leadership, and marketing support. The ideal candidate will be forward-thinking and eager to embrace AI and automation to build scalable, modern workflows. This is a chance to help shape the future of a lean, innovative chemical business.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee internal operations including order processing, stock control, and procurement
• Manage and support team members across production and admin
• Lead the adoption of AI tools and automation platforms to optimise workflows
• Implement and improve systems using QuickBooks, HubSpot, and Zapier
• Support marketing and sales activity across digital and distributor channels
• Ensure high standards of customer service and product availability
• Monitor KPIs and produce weekly operational reports
• Assist with warehouse transition and future acquisition integration
What We’re Looking For
• Experience in operations, manufacturing, logistics, or similar sectors
• Proven leadership and a track record of improving workflows and team efficiency
• Interest or experience in implementing AI tools and automation in a business setting
• Familiarity with the chemical industry (preferred but not essential)
• Understanding of inventory systems, compliance (COSHH, CLP), and basic financials
• Confident with digital tools including CRM, cloud platforms, and automation systems
• Highly organised, practical, and solution-oriented
