Overview
An independent veterinary practice with over 100 years of history is looking for an experienced mixed animal veterinary surgeon to join their fantastic team. They offer a friendly and supportive work environment, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality, modern medicine and surgery. Based in the heart of North East England, ideally located with easy access to transport links, city life, countryside, and coast.
Caseload and on-call
The caseload is approximately 85% small animals, 10% equine, and 5% farm work, though a small animal-only role is also available.
* On-call duties include one night per week, always with support from another vet.
* One full weekend on call in every six weeks; following weekend off with either Friday or Monday off to create a long weekend.
* A Saturday morning rota of one in three, with one of those shifts forming part of the full weekend on call.
* Bank holiday cover is shared equally among the team.
After working a weeknight on call (Monday to Thursday), you’ll have the following afternoon off. You’ll enjoy a minimum of six weeks of paid annual leave, with your birthday also given off once you’ve completed a successful six-month probation.
