Job Title: Deputy Manager
Reports To: Registered Manager / Directors
About the Role
As Deputy Manager, you’ll help run the residential home and support the team in delivering high-quality care to children and young people. You’ll step in for the Registered Manager when needed, lead shifts, and ensure the home is safe, welcoming, and meets all care standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Support the Registered Manager in meeting OFSTED and company standards
* Step in as acting manager when required
* Safeguard and promote the wellbeing of children
* Ensure children’s needs are met and they feel safe, respected, and included
* Help children settle into the home and support them during transitions
* Oversee care plans and ensure they’re regularly reviewed
* Work with families, social workers, schools, and other professionals
* Promote education, health, and emotional development
* Lead shifts and ensure children are safe and engaged
* Support children in managing behaviour and understanding their rights
Team Leadership
* Ensure staff follow policies, procedures, and rotas
* Monitor incident reporting and communication
* Promote professional behaviour and confidentiality
* Support staff development and training
* Conduct supervisions with senior support workers
* Help create rotas and manage staffing levels
Operational Duties
* Complete on-call duties as needed
* Be flexible with working hours
* Maintain health and safety standards
* Support with household management and budgeting
* Complete a minimum of 16 care hours as agreed

Experience:
* Children's Support : 3 years (required)
* Managing a team: 1 year (preferred)
Licence/Certification:
* Health and social care Level 3 (required)
