Senior Quantity Surveyor Job Overview
Due to the award of a major 5-year framework, a leading civil engineering contractor is looking to appoint a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join their growing team in Exeter.
This is an excellent opportunity to work within the water and utilities sector, delivering high-value capital works projects, including pumping stations, major diversions, and water mains renewals.

Key Responsibilities Senior Quantity Surveyor
* Manage a portfolio of projects valued at approximately £20M
* Provide commercial leadership and support to junior Quantity Surveyors
* Offer contractual advice to operational and delivery teams
* Administer and manage NEC contracts
* Review, appoint, and manage subcontractors and supply chain partners
* Raise and manage subcontracts in line with governance procedures
* Monitor project costs, variations, and change control
* Identify commercial risks and opportunities to maximise project value
* Carry out subcontract valuations and authorise payments
* Work closely with operational teams to ensure accurate cost and data reporting
Senior Quantity Surveyor Requirements
* HNC / Degree (BSc) in Quantity Surveying or Commercial Management
* Minimum 5+ years experience as a Quantity Surveyor within civil engineering or utilities
* Strong working knowledge of NEC contracts
* Experience working for a main contractor or subcontractor
* Proven track record of managing infrastructure or water sector projects
* Strong commercial awareness and stakeholder management skills
