Mechanical Inspector (Temporary – 3 Months)
Location: Horley Hours: 37.5 hours per week
- Monday – Thursday: 8:00am – 4:45pm
- Friday: 8:00am – 12:30pmSalary: Competitive, dependent on experience
About the Role
We are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Inspector to join a well-established engineering business on a 3-month temporary basis. This role is based at a busy manufacturing site and would suit someone with a strong metal shop or precision engineering background.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out inspection of mechanical components and assemblies to ensure compliance with engineering drawings and specifications
- Perform first-off, in-process, and final inspections
- Use a variety of measuring equipment (e.g. verniers, micrometers, gauges)
- Interpret technical drawings and tolerance requirements
- Identify and report non-conformances, working closely with production teams
- Maintain accurate inspection records and documentation
- Support continuous improvement and quality initiatives within the workshop
Requirements
- Previous experience in a Mechanical Inspector / Quality Inspector role
- Strong background within a metal shop or precision engineering environment
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Experience using manual inspection tools and measuring equipment
- High attention to detail with a strong commitment to quality
- Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively
Desirable
- Experience working within electronics or electro-mechanical manufacturing
- Knowledge of quality standards and inspection processes
