Setting Out Engineer – £110M New Build Residential Project – Greenwich

I am recruiting on behalf of a reputable Tier 2 Main Contractor who specialise in delivering large-scale new build residential, hotel and student accommodation schemes across London. They are now seeking an experienced Setting Out Engineer to join the team on a major £110M new build residential development in Greenwich.
Role Overview
As the Setting Out Engineer, you will play a key technical role in supporting the delivery of the concrete frame and associated structural works. You will be responsible for managing all on-site setting out activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining accurate records in line with project specifications and QA processes.
Key Responsibilities

Setting out for concrete frame elements, including slabs, columns, walls, and cores
*
Cubing up concrete and ensuring accurate measurements and positioning
*
Managing reinforcement for slab works, ensuring compliance with drawings and specifications
*
Supporting slipform operations, ensuring accuracy and smooth progress
*
Conducting checks and producing detailed QA documentation
*
Interpreting technical drawings and liaising with the site and design teams
*
Maintaining accurate survey records and as-built information
*
Assisting with site inspections and ensuring works are completed to the highest standard
Requirements
*
Previous experience working as a Setting Out Engineer on large new-build projects
*
Strong background in concrete works, reinforcement layouts, and structural setting out
*
Slipform experience is essential
*
Strong understanding of QA processes and documentation
*
Proficient with robotic total stations and other setting out equipment
*
Relevant engineering qualifications (HNC, HND, or Degree in Civil Engineering or similar)
