We are seeking an experienced, enthusiastic, and dedicated Year 4 Teacher to join a supportive and inclusive primary school in Northampton, starting as soon as possible. As a Year 4 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess lessons across the curriculum. You will foster independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours, ensuring all pupils—including those with SEND and English as an additional language—have access to a stimulating and challenging learning environment. You will also collaborate with teaching assistants and colleagues to maintain high standards across the year group. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 4 curriculum Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Track pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants, Key Stage 2 colleagues, and senior leaders Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives Support extracurricular activities and enrichment opportunities Ensure safeguarding policies and procedures are adhered to at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Lower Key Stage 2, ideally Year 4 Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Show a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work collaboratively as part of a professional team The school is located in Northampton, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
