Position Overview
The Deputy Support Manager is responsible for assisting the support manager in all aspects of the day-to-day management of the service. Acting as a mentor and role model to staff, the Deputy will provide direct care and support to people, promoting the highest standards of care and support and upholding the code of conduct for social care workers.
Responsibilities
* Lead day‑to‑day management of the supported living service and supervise staff.
* Ensure a person‑centred service, involving people in decision‑making and upholding their human rights.
* Deliver 24‑hour care and support within a team environment.
* Maintain good communication with staff, service users and health professionals.
* Implement and promote positive behaviour support and postural management for those with profound multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
* Manage scheduling across a mixture of early, late, night, sleepover, weekend and public holiday shifts, including unsocial hours.
* Cooperate with the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust to support mental health and learning disability services.
Qualifications & Experience
* Previous experience working in a supported living setting as a senior support worker.
* Level 3 or Level 4 Diploma in Health and Social Care.
* Experience with postural management and supporting individuals with profound multiple disabilities and complex health needs.
* Understanding of positive behaviour support.
Working Conditions
Shift work including early, late, night, sleepover, weekend and public holiday. Unsocial hours are paid as an enhancement. The role is based within the Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust.

Applicants requiring a visa to work in the UK: the Trust only provides sponsorship for registered healthcare practitioner roles. This does not include Healthcare Support Workers. The Trust cannot offer a role if it do not meet sponsorship and Home Office requirements.
