JOB OVERVIEW
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a SEND Teacher to lead the Enhanced Resource Base (ERB) at St Denys CE Infant School. Our ERB supports pupils with complex communication and interaction needs, and we are seeking a dedicated, skilled, and compassionate practitioner who is committed to making a meaningful difference to the lives of children with special educational needs and disabilities.
This is a highly rewarding role for a teacher who is passionate about inclusive education and has a strong understanding of SEND, particularly within EYFS and Key Stage 1. The successful candidate will teach a class of 12 pupils with high staff‑to‑pupil ratios, delivering tailored provision that enables pupils to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
THE ROLE
The SEND Teacher will be responsible for the learning, progress, and well‑being of pupils within the Enhanced Resource Base, working closely with support staff, families, external professionals, and school leaders. The role includes planning and delivering personalised learning, leading statutory processes, and contributing to the wider life and ethos of our welcoming Church of England school.

THE RIGHT CANDIDATE WILL :
10. Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have a strong understanding of effective teaching and learning, particularly within the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and/or KS1.
11. Have experience teaching pupils with SEND, either in a mainstream or specialist setting.
12. Demonstrate strong knowledge of the SEND Code of Practice and statutory SEND processes.
13. Have experience of working within EYFS and/or Key Stage 1.
14. Be skilled in adaptive teaching, assessment, and inclusive practice.
15. Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a supportive and ambitious team.
16. Demonstrate a positive, reflective, and solution‑focused approach to professional practice.
17. Communicate effectively with children, parents and carers, and colleagues, building strong and positive relationships.
18. Be knowledgeable about key safeguarding and child protection procedures and committed to maintaining a safe learning environment.
19. Be willing to contribute positively to the life and ethos of our welcoming Church School community.
20. Have the ability to use relevant classroom technology and resources confidently to enhance learning.
21. Bring a positive, solutions‑focused attitude and a reflective approach to continuous professional development.
22. Demonstrate a genuine commitment to the happiness, well‑being, self‑esteem, and academic progress of every child.
