Quality Engineer – Aerospace
As a Quality Engineer, you will support activities within the Aerospace sector, ensuring compliance with aviation regulatory standards and maintaining the integrity of the Quality Management System.
Location: Newport
On Site: 2-3 days per week
Clearance: Eligibility for UK Security Clearance required
Experience Level: Mid - Senior
Key Responsibilities
* Manage and coordinate regulatory approvals with aviation authorities (e.g. CAA)
* Ensure compliance with PART 21J and ISO standards
* Act as the primary interface with regulatory bodies and auditors
* Maintain and continuously improve the Quality Management System (QMS)
* Manage non‑conformities, including root cause analysis and corrective actions
* Lead preparation and support for audits and regulatory inspections
* Ensure robust processes across returns, concessions, and non‑compliant components
* Support operational teams in maintaining quality and regulatory standards
Qualifications
Required Skills:
* Strong experience in quality and regulatory compliance within aerospace or aviation
* Working knowledge of PART 21J, CAA regulations, and ISO standards (e.g. ISO 9001)
* Experience managing audits, approvals, and external regulatory interfaces
* Proven ability to manage non‑conformities and corrective action processes
* Strong understanding of QMS and continuous improvement methodologies
Required Qualifications:
* Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, or equivalent military experience
* Experience working in a regulated aerospace or safety‑critical environment
* Demonstrated experience in quality assurance, compliance, or certification roles
Desirable Skills:
* Experience working within a PART 21J Design Organisation
* Familiarity with EASA/CAA certification processes
* Exposure to aerospace manufacturing or MRO environments
* Knowledge of configuration control and documentation standards
