Profit Protection Manager - Wells & Co. - Bedford, Bedfordshire Company Description Are you passionate about protecting profits and reducing losses in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment? We’re looking for a detail-oriented and proactive Profit Protection Manager to play a key role in safeguarding the financial health of our pub operations. Ideally with a background in hospitality or retail finance, you will have a solid understanding of operations and financial systems. As a key member of our finance department, you will be responsible for improving our margin performance in UK Managed pubs through greater training, coaching and dedicated internal support. You'll add value to the efficiency and profitability of the sites by investigating trends and reporting on key themes to protect our profits. You will minimise loss and risk in each pub by promoting high levels of retail standards throughout the estate and providing the support to improve beer quality, yields, and food hygiene. This is a part remote/part office based role supporting our managed pubs across the Northern Home Counties so you will need to live within close proximity and substantial travel will be required. Position To manage and implement a full stocktaking program in the managed estate. Monitor and analyse sales, stock, and cash handling to identify unusual trends or l0sses. Identify and investigate any losses including petty cash issues, supporting the operations / HR teams with any evidence required. To provide reporting on a regular basis to the key stakeholders Work with pub managers to train staff on compliance with company policies and procedures. To collaborate cross functionally to drive innovation and performance with regard to yield and category management Ad-hoc checking of service charges and gratuities in line with company and legislative policy. Audit customer discounts and refunds for both F&B and hotel rooms. Review CCTV, EPOS data, and other systems to prevent internal and external theft. To design and implement an appropriate stock taking program for sales share sites. Future line management of one auditor covering similar duties for our France managed pubs. Requirements Proven experience in loss prevention, stock control, or audit in a multi-site capacity. Exceptional attention to detail and a natural problem-solver. Strong administrative and reporting standards. Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment while meeting deadlines. A hardworking and dedicated individual with a proactive "can-do" attitude, able to work independently. Able to handle sensitive situations discreetly and professionally.
