Overview

New Forest Care is a bespoke residential, education, and therapeutic childcare provider dedicated to offering unconditional care to vulnerable children and young people. Our approach is flexible and collaborative, working with local authorities, parents, and carers to ensure safety and well-being at the core of decision-making.

We operate Activity Residential Care (ARC), providing short-term placements (up to 90 days) in two registered homes. The ARC project, established in 2015, supports children facing placement breakdowns and complex behaviours. Our approach uses outdoor adventure, physical activity, and therapeutic connection to rebuild trust, resilience, and self-worth in these young people.

The Role: Registered Manager (Activity Residential Care - ARC)

The successful candidate will manage one of our specialist ARC homes.


Management Structure & Support

As the Registered Manager, your leadership team will consist of an experienced Deputy Manager, Senior Team Leader, and three Team Leaders. The home benefits from dedicated support, including an Activity Co-ordinator and access to New Forest Cares Therapy Team, Registered Mental Health Nurse, Safeguarding Lead, and People Team (HR). The role includes an extensive budget for home development, staff training, and child activities. You will be supported by a highly experienced Responsible Individual who has been integral to the ARC project since its inception in 2015.


Key Responsibilities of the Registered Manager

* Day-to-day management of the home, ensuring the highest standards of care and compliance.
* Strategic development of the home and contribution to the wider ARC project’s growth.
* Leadership and support for the staff team, driving continuous improvement in standards and practice.
* Crucial decision-making regarding the welfare of the children and the support provided by the staff.
* Working as part of the Senior Management Team and leading the care division in achieving the company’s strategic vision and operational priorities.


Requirements of the Registered Children’s Home Manager


Essential Qualifications & Experience

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Care (or equivalent, or working towards it).
* A UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in a residential childcare setting.
* A minimum of two years’ experience in a managerial position (Deputy Managers and Team Leaders will be considered).
* A full understanding of relevant children’s home legislation and regulations.
