Oxfam is a global movement of people working together to end the injustice of poverty. That means we tackle the inequality that keeps people poor. Together we save, protect, and rebuild lives. When disaster strikes, we help people build better lives for themselves and others. We take on issues like land rights, climate change, and discrimination against women. And we won’t stop until every person on the planet can enjoy life free from poverty.
Oxfam is a member of 21 organizations working together with partners and local communities in the areas of humanitarian aid, development, and campaigning, in more than 90 countries.

About our Oxfam Shops
Open since 1948, Oxfam shops are at the heart of the charity and their community, raising vital funds and increasing public awareness of our work. They are guided by our values of empowerment, accountability, and inclusiveness, and focus on generating as much revenue as possible.
The Role of our Deputy Shop Managers
Deputy shop managers are commercially aware, constantly seeking new business opportunities, motivating their teams, and creating a safe and energizing work environment. They uphold high standards, have a strong drive to achieve results, and are accountable for their business. The role is empowered, varied, and busy, offering the opportunity to work with amazing people. Shop managers are crucial to our business success and can make a real difference. Oxfam operates a volunteer operating model, where volunteers are empowered to undertake most tasks within the shop, including running the shop in the manager’s absence.
Often the only paid staff member, our managers and deputy managers are comfortable in this environment, enjoy working with others, and excel at delegating. They are excellent communicators, creative, and always seek opportunities to attract new supporters daily.
Our Values and Commitment to Safeguarding
Oxfam is committed to preventing any form of unwanted behavior at work, including sexual harassment, exploitation, abuse, lack of integrity, and financial misconduct. We promote the welfare of children, young people, and adults. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment through our code of conduct. We prioritize recruiting individuals who demonstrate and share our values and commitment to safeguarding.
