HR Assistant
Location: Brierley Hill
Salary: Up to £30k (Dependent on experience)
Role Purpose:
The primary function of this role is to provide Human Resources administrative support. The role supports both the Head of HR and Senior HR Generalist with daily administration and the overall running of the department. This position is ideal for an HR Administrator with experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Main Role Duties:
* Handle all aspects of general HR administration, including T&A management and reporting, managing holidays, and sickness absence monitoring.
* Manage temporary workers, maintain records of starters, leavers, and current temporary staff, provide worked hours to the agency weekly, assist with pay queries, and reconcile invoices for prompt payments.
* Assist with recruitment, prepare offer packs, draft contracts, and file returned documents appropriately.
* Lead onboarding for new hires, ensuring all paperwork and systems are updated.
* Maintain Occupational Health records, organize appointments, and keep health check records current.
* Support updates of employee and organizational information in HR and Payroll systems, including changes in working hours, roles, and departments.
* Update and maintain time & attendance records.
* Assist with reporting requirements, including headcount and key HR metrics.
* Manage employee uniform processes, including ordering and issuing.
* Support employee relations issues, including investigation and absence review meetings.
* Assist senior leadership with general administrative activities.
* Cover HR office duties in the absence of senior staff.
Person Specification / Required Skills:
* Self-motivated, proactive, with excellent communication skills.
* Experience in an HR department is required.
* Part CIPD qualification is advantageous but not essential.
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
* Confidentiality and data handling awareness.
* Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
* Ability to work independently and within a team.
* Good business acumen and analytical skills.
Working Hours:
Monday to Thursday: 08:00 am to 4:30 pm
Friday: 08:00 am to 1:30 pm (Early finish)
