About the Quality Assurance Department
The Quality Assurance Department (QAD) is an independent department responsible for performing an annual programme of testing to provide assurance that key controls are designed and operating effectively, ensuring compliance with external regulations and standards, and internal procedures. The department reviews completed engagements and provides feedback to engagement teams, service line management, technical and training departments, and other parties, driving continuous improvement in frank risk management and internal controls.
Responsibilities
* Complete audit assurance reviews with a focus on financial services clients.
* Support other QA reviewers, including managers and RIs from the business, with completion of audit assurance reviews.
* Carry out additional QA reviews and activities as needed to provide required assurance to the audit business and wider firm.
* Identify and deliver feedback to relevant parties, including examples of good practice, to support continuous improvement in audit quality.
* Identify and implement changes to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the department.
Qualifications
* ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent).
* Experienced Manager with a strong background in financial services engagements.
* Strong technical knowledge travay of audit and accounting standards; audit regulatory experience is preferential but not essential.
* Outstanding communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex issues concisely and understandably.
* Ability to share new ideas and appropriately challenge current working methods.
