We are currently looking for experienced Senior Nursing Assistants to join our Neighbourhood Nursing teams across the Boroughs of Lambeth and Southwark.

You will be required to submit evidence that you completed the NVQ Level 3 in a relevant field (, Health and Social Care) and the Care Certificate (both theory and practice).

Main duties of the job
The post-holder will be a member of the Neighbourhood Nursing (District Nursing) Team and will participate in the clinical case management of patients who have a wide variety of complex, high-risk and supported/self-care conditions. Working directly with the Neighbourhood Nursing team, the post-holder will help to ensure the provision of a high standard of nursing care and health promotion. The care will be provided in a range of settings including patients’ homes, residential homes.
No day will be the same and some of the activities required will be:
3. Proficiency in phlebotomy and undertake observations such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and temperature;
4. Assist in the collection of specimens including blood samples;
5. Assess comfort of patients and escalate appropriately as required;
6. Provide Catheter care;
7. Assist with wound care dressings and in the implementation of simple wound care.
8. Administering medication in accordance with the Trust Policies and assisting with palliative and end of life care.
9. Proficient in use a range of IT systems related to patient care.

Qualifications/ Education
Essential criteria
10. Evidence of general education GCSE’s or equivalent.
11. NVQ III in Health care or equivalent qualification in the area of speciality
12. Care Certificate
Previous experience

13. Previous experience of working as a healthcare assistant in a hospital, or registered care setting
14. Experience of taking clinical observations
Desirable criteria
15. Experience in catheter/stoma-care, basic wound care, and venepuncture.
