Domestic Abuse and Refuge Support WorkerHours: Full (Mon-Fri) Are you passionate about helping others and making a difference those who have been a victim of violence? If so BRC are recruiting for a Domestic Violence Support Worker to join an incredible team. We’re looking for a Domestic Violence Support Worker who shares this charities passion for empowering women to rebuild their lives and live free from fear. This charity is dedicated to providing support for families and individuals affected by domestic violence, enabling them to live a life free from fear and abuse. As Support Worker your role would involve working closely with these individuals, aiding them to maintain their tenancy. Your key responsibilities will include:
* Delivering one-to-one support, safety planning, and advocacy
* Supporting women to access housing, legal, financial, and health services
* Working in partnership with local agencies and community services
* Promoting empowerment, resilience, and independence in a trauma-informed way
* Respond calmly and effectively to emergencies, safeguarding concerns, or mental health crises, implementing de-escalation techniques when necessary.
We’re looking for someone with:
* Experience supporting vulnerable women or those affected by domestic violence.
* Strong communication and advocacy skills
* A good understanding of safeguarding and trauma-informed approaches
* The ability to work flexibly and independently, as well as within a team.
* Understand the complexities of abuse and are skilled at providing sensitive, empowering support.
