Description
The Plant Apprentice will learn and develop skills in the maintenance, repair, and servicing of plant machinery under the guidance of experienced technicians. This role provides hands-on training and formal qualifications to build a career in technical services.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Responsibilities:
* Assist with inspections, servicing, hire and repairs of plant equipment and tools.
* Learn to diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults.
* Assembling machine parts and components.
* Using hand tools and power tools safely.
* Reading basic engineering drawings and diagrams.
* Measuring and checking tolerances accurately.
* Installing or removing mechanical equipment.
Compliance:
* Maintain compliance with internal Company procedures.
System Management:
* Help maintain accurate service records and job sheets.
Learning and Development
* Learn how machinery and mechanical systems work.
* Follow training instructions from experienced fitters and supervisors.
* Develop practical engineering and fitting skills over time.
* Attend college or apprenticeship training sessions if part of the programme.
Health & Safety, Quality and Environmental:
* Follow all safety procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
* Maintain a clean and safe working environment.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
Essential
* GCSEs (or equivalent) in English, Maths, and Science.
