80656 - Small Works Field Engineer

This Small Works Field Engineer will report to the Lead Field Engineer and will work within Network Operations based in our Kings Lynn office. You will be a permanent employee.

You will attract a salary of £51,245 per annum and a bonus of 3%.

If you are successful, you will need to undertake a medical and DBS reference check

Job Purpose:

To work as part of a team to deliver Small Works and General Enquiry work within the Kings Lynn geographical area. You will also support Connections and Faults within the area if required, including Voltage complaints. This includes liaison with customers, the central scheduling unit, and Field Staff.

Principle Accountabilities:

* Ensure safety management throughout all responsibilities.
* Responsible for delivery of all Small Services and GE works to time, cost, and quality.
* Ensure staff comply with all procedures and work to a high standard of quality.
* Daily planning, coordination, and real-time responsibility for the efficient utilization of resources.
* Ensure that the Asset Database is updated with completed work by the system.
* Support and provide technical support to field staff.
* Liaise and offer technical support to the Scheduling Team.
* Complete quality assurance checks of works completed and rectify any quality issues identified.
* Communicate with and manage relationships with our customers to meet their expectations wherever possible.
* Be prepared to assist other sections e.g. organizational changes, system emergencies as determined by your experience.

Nature and Scope:

You will be an important contributor to the team and manage the delivery of all Small Works and General Enquiry work within the geographical area. Together with the scheduling team, Field Staff Supervisor, and Field Staff, you will deliver an excellent service to the customer, ensuring we meet the requirements of our Guaranteed Service Standards.

All new employees appointed to the Field Engineer roles within Network Operations will include a contractual requirement to undertake standby for a minimum period of 20 years, or up to the age of 55, whichever comes first.

Qualifications:

Essential:

* Band F (£52,630 - £60,646) = LV Field Engineer / Trainee Engineer.
* LV authorization on the EPN network.
* IT literate including MRS, SAP.
* Current valid driving license.
* City and Guilds 2339 or equivalent.

Desirable:

* ONC Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
* NRSWA (City and Guilds) Supervisors certificate.
* IOSH Managing Safely certificate.

Health & Safety Responsibilities:

Managers and supervisors carry both legal and company responsibilities for ensuring the health and safety of their employees, those under their control, and those who might be affected by the work undertaken, i.e. public, visitors, and employees of other organizations. This includes briefing individuals working for them and ensuring there is the necessary understanding, competence, and application of requirements to work safely and without harming the environment.

Employees will ensure they understand the health and safety risks involved in their work activities and their responsibility to apply the controls needed to manage those risks to acceptable levels. Similarly, where work activities can have an adverse impact upon the environment, and where there are legal requirements, employees will understand those impacts and the controls they must ensure are applied.

Employees need to be aware that for some craft and operational roles that work at height, or use fall arrest devices, there is an upper weight limit of 116Kg due to the maximum safe working load of the safety equipment that is used.
