At Tarmac,
we are looking for a National Technical Manager to join the team based at our T3 Head Office in Solihull.
About the Role
As the National Technical Manager, you will report into the Technical Director and be responsible for a team of two direct reports. You will support the Aggregates & Asphalt technical strategy with the Technical Director, facilitate collaboration, engagement, and sharing best practices, and identify areas for improvement to enhance performance and consistency across regions.
Your responsibilities include (not exhaustive):
1. Driving quality performance improvements in Aggregates & Asphalt
2. Championing and communicating a clear, forward-looking Technical Strategy to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and competitiveness
3. Enabling regional teams to deliver the technical strategy through improved engagement, accountability, and KPI performance
4. Contributing to industry technical forums and committees to strengthen Tarmac’s influence and insight
5. Supporting contracting in major bid processes by mapping and considering all suitable alternatives
6. Developing processes for efficient production and testing
7. Collaborating with R&D to develop new products aligned with market and commercial opportunities
8. Leading the national deployment of new products with consistent implementation and performance tracking
9. Working with regional leaders to reduce product quality complaints through improved accountability, data analysis, and process optimization
What we are looking for
A National Technical Manager preferably educated to bachelor’s degree level in a business or technical field, with professional experience in technical roles, ideally in construction markets, and a solid understanding of technical and commercial drivers in Aggregates & Asphalt markets.
