Project: Major strategic water infrastructure / reservoir scheme
The OpportunityWe are supporting a leading contractor delivering a nationally significant water infrastructure project in Oxfordshire. Due to continued progress across early works and construction activities, they are seeking a Site Engineer to join the project team and support the successful delivery of multi‑disciplinary civil and MEICA works.
This is an excellent opportunity to gain long‑term exposure on a flagship UK infrastructure project, working closely with site management, designers, subcontractors and the wider delivery team.
Key Responsibilities
1. Assist with site establishment and the overall delivery of the project, supporting site management and the wider project team as required
2. Support the preparation, implementation and maintenance of QA / QC documentation, including Inspection Test Plans, check sheets and site records
3. Carry out engineering duties using Total Station, GPS, CAT & Genny and other current survey and setting‑out equipment
4. Maintain accurate site records, including QA documentation, ITPs, survey and level data, concrete test results and as‑built information, highlighting any variances or issues.
5. Support the management and coordination of subcontractors and the supply chain as directed by site management
6. Assist with design coordination and the distribution of technical and construction documentation relevant to site works
7. Hold specific site‑based responsibilities as required, including permits to work
8. Support effective coordination between site disciplines and subcontract managers to ensure works are sequenced and delivered efficiently.
9. Assist with thepletion and coordination of mandatory and regulatory inspections, including SHE, LOLER, PUWER and otherpliance requirements
10. Support the development, monitoring and reporting of 5–6 week look‑ahead programmes, liaising with the supply chain and key stakeholders
11. Prepare and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements for directly resourced activities where required
12. Assist with the implementation and management of SHE management systems, including participation in audits and reviews
13. Plan and procure materials and plant to support site activities, ensuring efficient use and accurate stock control.
14. Produce accurate as‑constructed drawings, including red‑line mark‑ups, for issue to the design team
15. Promote continuous improvement, sharing best practice across the project team and the wider business
16. Attend coordination, progress and programme meetings as required
17. Monitor and help drive health, safety and environmental performance across site activities.
About You
18. Degree or HNC/HND qualified in Civil Engineering or a related engineering discipline
19. Good understanding of civil engineering principles and construction techniques
20. Exposure to civil engineering and / or MEICA construction environments
21. Experience supporting design management and technical coordination
22. Prior experience in frontline or project‑supporting site roles
23. Hold a valid CSCS card
24. Full UK driving licence

25. Degree in Civil Engineering
26. ICE training agreement in place or working towards professional development
