Job Overview
Day Surgery Unit in Wexham Park Hospital are looking for a dynamic and professional Ward Clerk / Receptionist to meet the administrative demands of our busy Day Surgery Unit.
Main duties of the job
* General clerical and administrative duties.
* Ward Clerk services meet and greet TCI patients and relatives, handling initial enquiries.
* Maintain accurate admission (printing name bands, enter patient details as required into the EPIC system, transfers and discharge on EPIC.
* Provide a reception service - handling initial enquiries, gathering basic information and taking initial action.
* Work closely with Nurse in Charge to accommodate beds for new admission and relay information appropriately.
* Keep staff informed of admissions and discharges and ensure queries from other members of staff and members of the public are dealt with appropriately, either in person or on the telephone.
* Answer calls in a polite manner, ensuring all relevant messages are relayed to the appropriate team.
* Ordering supplies, ensuring there is adequate resources and reporting faulty equipment as per trust policy.
* Point of contact for all visitors to the unit
* Liaise with other departments for example; Waiting list department, consultants secretaries, emergency department, transport, discharge lounge, site managers, porters etc
* To provide administrative support to the nursing and medical staff as required
* Ensure general tidiness of Reception areas
* To maintain a safe working environment
* Assisting with audits as required, including data collection
* Reporting of any estates issues via Planet FM and following up these requests.
