The Opportunity: National Transport Manager
Contract: Permanent
Location: Cannock with travel required

The Impact you will have:
* Responsible for the implementation of best practice Transport principles, policies, and processes, to continuously improve operational safety, compliance, and performance
* Responsible for ensuring the Transport Departments throughout the UK group operate in a safe and efficient manner and are fully compliant with all legislation.
* Accountable for ensuring inhouse and outsourced transport providers are operating in accordance with relevant and current legislative requirements and Briggs UK requirements.
* Deliver solutions to Transport problems whilst maintaining high levels of quality and customer service within budgetary requirements
* Plan, manage and evaluate all Transport activities, liaising with internal stakeholders, suppliers, external transport providers and customers
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with all transport related stakeholders
* Support continuous improvement initiatives, identifying inefficiencies, cost optimisation and sharing of best practices throughout the Group.
* Maintain compliance to all current and future legislation
* Deliver high standards of service delivery to all internal and external stakeholders
* Responsible for creating an environment where safety is embedded in the core principles of the transport function
* Deliver Transport expenditure within agreed budgets
What will help you to excel in this role:
* National or International Certificate of Professional Competence qualification in Transport Management
* Experience in Transport / logistics / operations management
* Experience of managing budgets and contracts
* Knowledge of Transport / Logistics Industry and associated regulations
* Experience of managing 3rd party logistics / transport providers
* Extensive leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
* Experience of managing safety at work
