Please note this role is a double shift role with the following schedule:
* Week 1: Monday - Thursday 05:48-14:00, Friday 05:48-12:00
* Week 2: Monday - Thursday 13:48-22:00, Friday 11:48-18:00
As a key member of the site Quality Team, this role supports the Food Safety & Quality requirements at Mizkan Euro Bury St Edmunds site. The Quality Team Member will proactively collaborate with relevant departments to support all aspects of the ME Quality System.
The role involves ensuring all required quality checks are completed accurately and timely, with effective communication and escalation to stakeholders when necessary.
Candidates should lead by example, embracing the principles of offering only the finest products and continuously challenging the status quo.
Responsibilities (not exhaustive):
* Support operational teams (manufacturing, warehousing, engineering) in quality issues, escalating when unsure.
* Analyze and approve raw materials and products for release, ensuring compliance with specifications and food safety standards.
* Collect and analyze samples of incoming ingredients.
* Review certificates of analysis and conformance.
* Ensure laboratory equipment calibration within limits.
* Verify internal documentation accuracy through audits.
* Contribute to continuous technical improvements and challenge existing processes.
* Conduct organoleptic testing of raw materials and finished products.
* Support stock release of finished products, including Mizkan and co-pack products.
* Participate in various projects and process improvements.
* Assist in transitioning specifications administration from paper to electronic systems.
* Check labels and packaging for accuracy.
* Maintain non-conformance database, investigating incidents and implementing corrective actions.
Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
Essential:
* Experience in a food manufacturing quality role (advantageous).
* Team player, able to work independently.
* Flexible and able to manage workload effectively.
* Attention to detail and quality focus.
* Basic health and safety and manual handling training.
* Basic food hygiene knowledge.
* Proficient in Excel.
* Experience in manufacturing environment (desirable).
Desirable:
* Previous experience in food manufacturing quality roles.
