The Role
As an Area Sales Manager, you’ll be responsible for driving sales growth, expanding market presence, and providing hands-on technical support to customers across the North of England. This role suits someone who enjoys getting out in front of customers, solving technical challenges, and developing long-term partnerships.
Key Responsibilities
* Develop and execute strategic sales plans to meet and exceed territory growth targets
* Identify and win new business opportunities through proactive prospecting
* Provide technical advice and product/application guidance to customers
* Work closely with engineering, customer service, and internal support teams to deliver full solutions
* Represent the business at trade shows, product demos, and industry events
About You
* Education: Degree, HNC or HND in Mechanical Engineering (or similar job exp)
* Experience: 0–10 years in technical sales, application engineering or business development, ideally within industrial automation or related mechanical systems
* Technical Skills: Strong grasp of mechanical principles; vacuum technology knowledge is a bonus
* Personal Attributes: Confident communicator, self-motivated, customer-focused, and driven to achieve results
* Location: Based within 100 miles of Reading, with the flexibility to travel across the South of England
