The Role of the Mechanical Fitter As a Mechanical Fitter, you will be responsible for the mechanical build and assembly of machinery from engineering drawings, working as part of a skilled production and assembly team. Key responsibilities of the Mechanical Fitter • Mechanical fitting and assembly of bespoke machinery and equipment • Building sub-assemblies and full machine builds • Working from detailed engineering drawings and assembly instructions • Installing mechanical components such as drives, gearboxes, bearings, motors, guards and frames • Carrying out basic fault finding and rectification during build and test stages • Supporting machine testing, commissioning, and final build sign off • Working with pneumatics and basic electrical components where required • Ensuring work is completed to quality, safety, and build standards Requirements of the Mechanical Fitter Time served Mechanical Fitter At least 2 years mechanical fitting or machinery assembly experience Experience building and assembling machinery within industrial equipment environments Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings Some electrical knowledge Experience working with pneumatic systems Benefits of the Mechanical Fitter • Salary of £30,000 to £32,000 (depending on experience) • Secure, permanent position within a growing manufacturer • Opportunity to work on bespoke, engineered machinery • Clean, modern working environment • Long term stability and career development If you are a Mechanical Fitter based in or around Warrington and are looking to join a growing machinery manufacturer with a strong future, get in touch to find out more.
