We are seeking a proactive, compassionate, caring, and recovery-focused HCPC registered Occupational Therapist with excellent communication skills to join our multidisciplinary teams. You will be involved in holistic assessments and interventions to support patient care planning and delivery.
Please note: applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The DBS application costs £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), deducted over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enroll in the DBS Update Service, with an annual fee of £16.
As a Senior Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will manage a clinical caseload and provide group and individual interventions. You will plan, implement, and lead a high-quality Occupational Therapy Service on the acute wards at Sherwood Oaks Hospital.
The post holder will clinically supervise Occupational Therapy staff and support staff, providing guidance and ensuring safe working practices. You will receive managerial supervision from the Ward Manager and act as Practice Placement Educator for Occupational Therapy students, supporting placements in accordance with standards. You will liaise with agencies across Nottingham.

The post holder will oversee the day-to-day operations and provision of Occupational Therapy on the wards, coordinating services and supervising staff to ensure safe practices.
You will assess service users’ needs, develop effective OT plans, and implement these, understanding complex needs and treatment approaches relevant to this client group. Effective communication with multidisciplinary colleagues and agencies is essential to prioritize work and guide staff.
You will lead the Occupational Therapy team, which includes physiotherapists, dieticians, speech and language therapists, sports instructors, peer support workers, and activity coordinators, to provide therapy services to the acute wards.
You will actively develop the Occupational Therapy Service in a client-centered, recovery-focused, evidence-based context and influence wider team development.
You will represent and promote the role of occupational therapy, support service planning, development, and practice placements for students and other disciplines.
