About the role Join Balfour Beatty Power Transmission & Distribution (T&D) as a Planner and play a pivotal role in delivering some of the UK’s most ambitious infrastructure programmes. From HS2 site works to substation builds, cabling schemes, and renewable connections, you’ll help shape the energy systems that power millions and support the UK’s transition to Net Zero. Location: UK-Wide (Smart Working Available, HS2 Site Offices) Division: Power Transmission & Distribution What you'll be doing As a Planner, you’ll be central to project success from tender through to delivery, using cutting-edge tools and innovative methodologies to drive outcomes. Your role will include: Planning & Scheduling – Develop, update, and maintain fully resourced, logically linked programmes. Tender Support – Produce compelling tender programmes and planning strategies that influence bid success. Delivery Oversight – Monitor and report on programme performance, ensuring commercial and operational objectives are achieved. Critical Path & Change Management – Identify risks, analyse impacts, and advise on mitigation strategies. Reporting & Insights – Provide progress reports, KPIs, and planning data to leadership and stakeholders. Collaboration & Interfaces – Work closely with Project Managers, Engineers, Commercial teams, and Clients. Mentorship – Support junior planners and contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture. Who we're looking for You’ll bring structure, clarity, and foresight to complex energy and infrastructure projects. We’re looking for: A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related discipline. Proven planning experience on major infrastructure or energy projects. Proficiency in Primavera P6 and/or Asta Powerproject, plus strong Excel skills. Knowledge of NEC3/NEC4 contracts, earned value analysis, QSRA, and TRA methodologies. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with an eye for programme risk and opportunity. Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
