Wasps is now looking to recruit a dynamic and self-motivated Head of Development & Enterprise.
Leading our Development and Enterprise department, you will be in the engine room of the charity’s income generation; you will have a demonstrable record of planning and generating income – including trading and fundraising – from a range of sources and have an affiliation with the aims and objectives of Wasps and understand its cultural and social value. This role will focus on developing trading activities, securing grant funding, forming partnerships, and generating income to support the charitable mission.
The Head of Development & Enterprise will play a critical role in the delivery of Wasps’ charitable purpose and partnerships, as well as working with our CEO, consultants and Board of Trustees on major income generation initiatives. You will be comfortable communicating with a variety of stakeholders, understanding their aims and translating them into actionable results on behalf of the organisation. You will be excited to lead fundraising initiatives for capital, programmes and environmental projects.
key responsibilities
As you will be leading the formation of a new department, the duties and accountabilities will be wide ranging, but key responsibilities will include:
* Strategic Leadership:
Membership of the Senior Management Team. Developing and executing a income generation strategy to foster growth and identify new opportunities in line with the organisational Strategic Plan. Reporting to the Board when appropriate.
* Inclusive Growth:
Driving a shared wealth model of income generation through strategic initiatives and service delivery that align with Wasps’ vision and values and underpin our commitment to the creatives we work with.
* Team Management:
Building, leading and managing a development or enterprise team, providing guidance, and ensuring highquality delivery of projects and services.
* Stakeholder Relations:
Building and maintaining relationships with various stakeholders, including funders, clients, partners, and tenants.
* Financial Oversight:
Managing budgets, identifying funding opportunities and developing pipelines of funding bids and grant proposals.
* Performance Monitoring:
Monitoring and evaluating the performance of enterprise projects and services to ensure alignment with strategic objectives and organisational values and policies.
* Innovation & Policy:
Promoting innovation, supporting the development of new products or services, and contributing to the formulation of trading and ethics policies. Championing our organisational policies and procedures including Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, and Health and Safety.
Skills and attributes
Essential:
* Strategic Thinking - strong strategic and analytical skills to develop and implement effective business and action plans.
* Commercial Acumen - research, and experience in enterprise and/or commercial contracts, market financially driven
* Leadership - t data and decision making. he ability to provide leadership, motivate teams, and work collaboratively at a senior level.
* Negotiation & Communication - excellent negotiation, communication, and influencing skills to build relationships and deliver values led collaborations.
* Results Oriented – a proven track record of meeting or exceeding goals and a strong focus on financial results
Desirable:
Driving licence and, ideally, access to your own car.
